take place from middle of February till late of May in the Lyngen and surrounding area (Kåfjord, Skjervøy, Vannøy etc) in the Northern part of the county of Troms and also in the Western part of the county of Finnmark. The areas are situated some 100 km’s inside the Artic circle. The Sail and ski concept in Lyngen area was originally developed by the Italian mountain guide Lucas Caspari in the 90's.

On board The Goxsheim, our “base camp” sailing ship, we will drop anchor in sheltered bays, natural harbours or dock in small fishing settlements, and access the mountain for the day either directly from the ship’s deck - or a little bit more challenging: By using the dinghy for drop off on the shore. After 5-7 hours you'll be back, and you'll be served the ship’s Soup of the day with white bread. Something to look forward to!

To book with us, you must have taken part in down hill off piste skiing before (intermediate level) and your physical condition has to be so that you can manage skinning for 3-5 hours and then going downhill. You'll have to arrange with equipment (randonee or telemark skis, poles, skins, avalanche transceiver etc) yourself.

The duration of a Sail and Ski trip is 8 days/7 nights (Saturday till Saturday), and the price is NOK 14.450,- pr. person.

Weeks with availability 2011 are:

Ski and Sail 1: 12-19 February.  Price NOK 14.450,-.

All other 2011 weeks are fully booked.

2012: Since we've already started to receive bookings for 2012, we'll advice you to get in touch if our trips should be of interest to you.

As on all of our other trips, the price includes full board (big breakfast, lunch packet for the days trip, soup with baguettes when the trip is finished, 2 course dinner, non alcoholic beverages, some fruit and snacks) and lodging (fully prepared small double/twin cabins, towels etc), harbour fees, diesel , a skilled ski guide etc. All you need to bring along is suitable clothes and personal toilette requisites. We use local guides that have been ski touring these areas for several years. And - we do not do trips without guides. They are obligatory! Flights and alcohol are not included.
